Enrolment

Enrolment

The enrolment process at Cheltenham East Primary School is a very simple one.  An enrolment form must be filled in and signed.  The only documentation parents of children enrolling in a Victorian state school for the first time must produce is evidence of date of birth of the child concerned and his/her immunisation certificate, which is obtained from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register.  Children who are not Australian citizens are required to provide a copy of their current visa.

Please note that children enrolling in the Foundation year must be at least 5 years of age by the 30th of April in the year in which they enrol.

NEW DATES ANNOUNCED

Please click on the following link for further information

2021 Foundation Group Tours – new dates

Individual tours (for 2021 enrolments) can be made by appointment from 17th August onwards.

UPDATED TOUR INFORMATION as at 22 April 2020

We wish to update you in regards to tours of the school and Enrolments for Foundation 2021, as a result of the current unpredicted COVID-19 conditions.

As you may be aware, the school is currently unavailable for public meetings, with the majority of staff working from home for the foreseeable future.  Following the advice from Department of Education Victoria, this will continue to be the case until further notification, therefore we are unable to conduct tours until current restrictions, which apply to groups of people, are lifted.

2021 Transition Program dates will be modified once we receive notification of when school will return to onsite operation.

We know we offer a wonderful environment for your child to grow, learn, enquire and explore the world. Just ask any of the families at our school! So, we welcome you to enrol your child at Cheltenham East Primary School. Please download an Enrolment Form from this page and complete it. Then you simply post or email it back to us, accompanied by evidence of your enrolling child’s date of birth and his/her immunisation certificate, which is obtained from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register.  Children who are not Australian citizens are required to provide a copy of their current visa.

Thank you for your understanding during these unprecedented times.

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2020 onwards.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

Transition to School

Each year, a transitional program, “Foundation Friends” is offered throughout the year for kindergarten children, which is conducted over a number of weeks. This includes opportunities for children to meet their buddies, participate in school learning activities, meet their teachers and in general become familiar with the school environment in a confident and happy way. Our Foundation Friends program commences each year in Term 2.
